AIRMW at Elastic Arts: Jon Monteverde & Jeff Chan

AIRMW presents Jon Monteverde and Jeff Chan, one of two shows at Elastic Arts in March. This duo project pairs Jeff Chan and Jon Monteverde for a freely improvised performance. The music to be presented by Monteverde (e. bass and electronics) and Chan (woodwinds), while drawing on their broad and eclectic influences, will mark a departure from their established  performance practices.

Jon Monteverde is a musician based in Chicago. He plays keyboards in Boundary Waters and bass in Hey Hey Think Think, and posts electronic music performances on YouTube. His recent improvisational work focuses on disorientation and the challenge of staying present.  

Chicago multi-instrumentalist/composer Jeff Chan is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the Asian American experience through music. With a discography of more than 15 recordings as a leader, sideman and producer, Chan has performed extensively in the Chicago area, across the nation and in Europe.
